13 Years as Awwwards Jury - What Stays Beyond Trends
This year marks my 13th year as a jury member at Awwwards.
Thirteen years.
It’s a number that made me stop for a moment.
Not because of the milestone itself, but because of everything that comes with it: the projects, the people, the ideas, and the constant evolution of our industry.
Over the years, I’ve reviewed thousands of websites and digital experiences from all over the world. Some impressed instantly. Some surprised quietly. And some stayed with me long after I closed the browser.
And that’s when you start noticing something interesting.
In thirteen years, I’ve seen countless trends come and go.
Minimalism dominated for years.
Then came bold typography.
Brutalism followed.
3D became the new frontier.
Now AI is reshaping everything again.
Each wave felt important.
Each one pushed the industry forward.
But very few trends truly lasted.
What did last were ideas.
Clear thinking.
Purpose-driven design.
The projects I still remember today aren’t necessarily the most visually complex ones. They’re the ones built on strong concepts - the ones that felt meaningful, thoughtful, and timeless.
And that’s what still excites me the most.
One of the most valuable parts of being part of Awwwards has always been the community.
Being exposed to work from every corner of the world changes your perspective. It pushes you to question your own assumptions, rethink your standards, and stay curious.
Over the years, I’ve met incredible designers, developers, and creative thinkers. People who constantly challenge what’s possible.
This exchange of ideas is what keeps the industry alive.
And honestly, it’s what keeps me inspired.
After all this time, one thing hasn’t changed.
I’m still learning.
Every year brings something new. A new idea, a new approach, a new perspective. And that’s what makes this journey so meaningful.
Because creativity never stands still.
And neither should we.
I’m grateful to be part of this global community for the past 13 years.
And excited for everything that’s ahead.
After all, the best ideas are still waiting to be discovered.
